Baby It’s Hot Outside

Nate told me I needed to change the chalkboard in the mudroom.

He was right.  I hate when he’s right.  But I changed it anyways.

I do not think I have ever said “It is hot.”….in Iowa…in March.  We were in the 80’s all week-end.  Insanity. I’m sure this wonderfulness will end soon but we enjoyed every second of it this week-end. We even enjoyed sweating to death in the house.  There was no way we were turning on the air conditioner in March.  It just seemed wrong.

Our niece was baptized this week-end so all of Nate’s family was in town….which means we got to see our favorite little people…

We ate some delicious checkered cake made by Nate’s sister.

We went to the neighborhood pond and fed the fish.

I tried to get a nice/normal picture of Nate and I.

It went well.  I guess this is as good as it gets.

Nate hates my short hair.  So I cut it short again this week-end.  Oopsie daisy.  Girl power.

Ike is totally a fan of summer in March.  He enjoyed staring out the open windows and walks in the park.  He hopes the warm weather keeps up.

Me too, Ike.  Me too.

Did you all have lovely week-ends? Anyone else experience some unseasonably warm weather?  My blog has resorted to weather talk.  This being 30 thing is taking a toll left and right.

  10. Cute dress! This weather is ridiculous. It's nice, but I'm worried about how hot it's going to get this summer. I hate temperatures above 80-85, and I know it'll be a 90-100 degree summer. It's a good thing we didn't wait to get married this summer.

  11. I've got to agree with Cassie, the photo of you two laughing is just too cute. While you got the lovely hot weather, it was about 43 degrees in Los Angeles. But it really looks like you're enjoying the nice weather, so I'm not going to ask for it to come back here haha

  12. It was 81 degrees here yesterday in Nashvegas. CRAZY! I am a summer girl at heart, but I do enjoy the spring lead up into it. Hope you are feeling better!

  14. Sorry, Nate. I like your hair short. Nicely done. And Nick and I get the same outtakes when we try to get a photo with both of us in it. I'm happy if we end up with one of both of us looking normal. It's rough.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this weather.

  16. I can't believe this weather lately. We've been in the 80s for a week at least, and allegedly it's going to continue all this week as well. Yesterday I broke down and turned on the a/c not because it was too hot, but because we have a post-surgery dog recovering at home, and we can't keep the windows open because he gets too excited/barkey and starts bleeding all over the place. No windows = a very stuffy house, and I just had to turn the air on. To be fair though, it's BARELY on - just enough to make it not humid inside. I turned to my husband and said "Sweet Mother of God - we have the air conditioning on! In MARCH! Can you believe that?!" Since I rarely want to turn the air on even in July - he really couldn't believe it. I'm an open windows girl all the way, but gotta do what's best for the pups.

  17. Adorable pic of you and Nate. I woke up sweating the other night and finally gave in to turning the AC on. Hard to believe this weather! We had snow last March. Ha.
