I have a mind blowing addition to our powder room to share with you today. Apartment Therapy is going to be all over this stuff.
I have a recent obsession with arrows. I don’t know why. It’s a weird Michelle thing. (Along with many others.)
I found this little wooden arrow at Michael’s. I grabbed my trusty red spray paint and got to work. I painted it with lots of cardboard underneath. Our driveway is still recovering from my red nutcracker painting. Oops. Sorry, driveway.
It might seem a little small now but there are plans for crown molding and a new window treatment. Someday.
Nate wanted to point the arrow down. Boys.
I think I will paint our mirror red….when I find the perfect one. The one we have now is too small. It was purchased pre-understanding of spatial arrangement. Not that I really get it now. But sort of.
Yes, the light plate still needs fixed. We don’t want to rush things around here.
Have you made any little but big changes lately? Anyone digging arrows?
I like the arrow. And red Is my favorite accent color so I approve. Plus, it's handy to know how to get to the sink. That gets confusing.
ReplyDeletehaha Kim!
DeleteRick has several large mirrors of mine that he would like to donate to you. If you're ever in NY, I might consider it. I'llthink about it. ;)
i like the arrow and the pop of color! but i think it should point down because that is where you "go". he he.
ReplyDeleteI thought the arrow should go down at first too but now I like it the way you have it. Man I really dig your wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally digging arrows lately - and anchors for some reason!? The red looks great in your bath!
ReplyDeleteI bought a new print...but sadly haven't gotten around to hanging it yet.
ReplyDeleteI love the arrow - and the splash of color it adds.
It's cute, it's quirky. It will look nice when the trim is up and you have more red accents in the room too.
ReplyDeleteMind blown.
ReplyDeleteMy new obsession - and this is going to sound odd - is color. I kept everything super neutral so that whatever details I wanted to add could be anything and still match the main background. Well, it's time to add some!
I'm a lover of shapes and symbols in general. And anything involving spray paint. I vote yes. A pop of color to a neutral room always has impact. It also reflects the color choices in your mud room. Love.
ReplyDeleteThe red is such a fun touch! My husband definitely would've wanted to point the arrow down too.... I think a red framed mirror would look great in the room. As for the size of the mirror, scale is hard! I've been struggling to figure out what size bedside lamps I need in our master bedroom. Guess it's time to start bringing different options home. Sarah
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of color!
ReplyDeleteGotta admit, I like the idea of the arrow pointing down. :) However, it does look better pointing to the side.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I have a feeling Jesse would have taken a more inappropriate turn and wanted the arrow pointing up... I love the splash of red in there though and a larger red framed mirror would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove the arrow. I think that mirror is great and I think it would look awesome in red? Why wait... patience is overrated. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it! Definitely a nice little additional pop of colour. And I'm with you - don't point it down! But, perhaps you should add a second one pointing the other way?
ReplyDeleteHa, I guess I must think like Nate as well, because I thought it would be funny to point the arrow down, as to tell people, "HERE IT IS" . I think painting the mirror would look great!
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of red, and the idea of painting the mirror red is perfect!
ReplyDeleteA red mirror will be crazy amazing and the whole interweb will be stunned and amazed. PLEASE DO IT.
ReplyDeleteBefore I even read that Nate wanted the arrow pointed down, I was thinking the same thing. (It's not gross or inapprop...it's whimsical.)
ReplyDeleteOk, well if you don't go for that I guess painting the mirror red would work too. Orrrr, you could go for a red toilet. Just sayin.
I like it. Adam would want to point it down too. Like a pee here sign. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI like the red with all the black and white. A red mirror would look cool as well. I say go for it!!!
ReplyDeleteAt first, when I read the title, I thought this post was going to be about archery. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda disappointed that you haven't struck up an archery obsession. But I'll take an arrow in your guest bathroom as a consolation prize.
ReplyDeleteNice! You could always make a game spinner out of your red arrow; like for making choices in the bathroom & stuff...
ReplyDeleteBefore I read the other comments I was wanting that arrow to point DOWN. Jo @ Let's Face the Music
ReplyDeletei LOVE the arrow! GREAT find at Micahels! Hmmm, maybe I shoudl get that for when guests come over ... 'bathroom is over THERE = follow the arrow'
