Nate’s Wish List

Please tell me that I’m not the only one that struggles with buying gifts for dudes.  It doesn’t help that my dude is super picky.  I mean, he did pick me.  Only the finest.

Nate did do a decent job on his wish list this year.  Thank goodness he took a liking to photography.

Maybe his list will give you ideas for the wonderful men in your life!

Untitled-nate copypn

1. Lacoste Green Cologne for Men 2. Roku Box  3. Nikon SB-400 AF Speedlight Flash  4.  Samsung Vehicle Navigation Car Mount  5. Tiffen 62mm Neutral Density 0.9 Filter  6. Nikon 50mm f/1.8G AF-S NIKKOR Lens  7.  Grey Card Set  8.  Sennheiser CX 215 3.5mm Connector Ear-Canal Headphone

Don’t ask me what half of it is.  Because I don’t know.

I haven’t purchased his gift yet but I think I have it narrowed down.

What are you getting the special dudes in your life?  Do share the gift idea wealth!

  1. Why do men always want practical boring presents?! My bf wanted a replacement battery for his laptop and a bluetooth gadget on his last birthday. So I got him what he wanted along with a box of 'boys toys' which included a remote controlled Dalek, a build your own robot kit, how to talk zombie CD and lots of other silly things. He loved his toys more than the practical stuff and had hours of fun 'playing'!!

  3. The hubs has fortunately taken up biking this Fall, so I have a wealth of ideas this year. Which is rare. Usually I buy him a shiny new Dewalt something or another and call it good. Or a ladder. I've bought several ladders for him and he gets excited every time. Boys are weird.

  4. Robert gets excited about flashlights and socks. I'm not even kidding. Last year he got a robe and a polar fleece jacket and he LOVED them. We're not really doing gifts this year, but I bet I could buy him Legos and he'd be thrilled.

We did buy ourselves the "new" (it's been out a while) AppleTV and he has been SO excited about it (and the Netflix membership). Loving the Nikon lens! And I might need a set of those grey cards.

  5. Shopping for guys is THE WORST! These are great gift ideas--I wish I could get Jeff into photography, because that lens is on my wishlist, too ;-)

  6. You are so right that dudes are definitely harder to buy for. Luckily for me, both my dude husband and dude son have serious outdoor sporting addictions so I can zone in on those.

  7. Oohh....I wish my husband liked half the things yours does...I would be in heaven, since I just got a new camera....by the way #6 is a GREAT lens, I have it, and love it.

  8. haha I don't know what half of that stuff is either. :) I usually can't go wrong buying clothes for Rick, and piano music is always good too. Power tools work, as well, except he has to pick them out because I have no idea what anything does.

  9. Every year I tell Brad I'm giving him a hand shake for Christmas. That's his gift-- a hand shake from me. This year I think I'll splurge and get him a watch since he's also graduating from grad school next month. Saved from the hand shake gift.

  10. You are lucky you got a list. When I asked Chris what he wanted for Christmas he just said, "cash". Easy, yes, but kinda takes the fun out of opening gifts Christmas morning.

  11. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know what that stuff is!

Adam is getting Cologne this year too. Ralph Lauren Black Black. Other than that he is getting clothes and Bluerays from me. Oh and a handy dandy tool box!

  12. Did you see the wire fox terrier who won the national dog show?

  13. OK. Really strange. I'm trying to comment on your Ike post, but it doesn't exist on your blog. I'm in the Twilight Zone. I wanted to say that Ike is cuter than the dog who won, but I wouldn't subject him to the dog show world. He doesn't seem like a snob. :)
As for your husband's wish list. It looks a bit like mine with the camera stuff. My husband is tough to shop for as well. This year he's using Amazon.com which is helping.

  14. He gives you a wish list?! Andy just tells me not to give him anything - ever. Can Nate have a talk with Andy please?

  15. This is a serious wish list. The adults (10 or more of us) in the family do a secret santa with a theme and a budget so it is one gift . . . a lot of fun!

  16. W00t W00t on the camera stuff!!!

For my Josh I pretty much got him all the 'big' stuff which includes a Telescope. He has been really big into the whole Astronomy thing right now and has been eying telescopes online. I don't know the least big of anything when it comes to those things so I went with one that's good for beginners and had good reviews. The next big item is an ereader with apps and wi-fi access. The rest of his gifts will be small essential type items {stocking stuffer type stuff and some shirts... etc}. I love getting gifts for others!

  18. I strongly suggest getting him the Roku 2 XS box (the best one, which goes for $98) - I just got one and I am so glad I did!

  21. With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of
plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of
unique content I've either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any techniques to help protect against content from being ripped off? I'd really appreciate it.
