Blondie

Look what I found while thrift store shopping with my family this past week-end….

29th Birthday 051

I'm in L-O-V-E.

My dad kept insisting that the dresser is called a “Blondie”.  I thought that was funny.
Almost as funny as my parents squished in the backseat of my Jeep while trying to get the dresser home.
Good thing they love me....

My dad doesn’t think I should paint the dresser.  Seriously, Dad?
No piece of furniture is safe from my paint brush and mini-roller.

It’s going to live in our master bedroom.  I have visions of 3 different shades of grey in my head.

What color(s) would you paint the dresser?
Would you keep the hardware or replace it with something new?  I'm torn.

**This dresser find gets me 1 step closer to completing goal #27 on my 30 Before 30 List.

  1. Hi! What about painting it a bright color? Here's a link to explain what I mean. This woman painted an ornate chest a vibrant green and looks amazing! Scroll down once you click the link...

    Good luck & happy painting!

  3. omg...so jealous!! What a find! I agree with mindy, a jewel tone like that green would look beautiful. If you want something more sedated, i would choose gray..but i know a lot of your walls are gray, and I think maybe you would want it to stand out!

  4. It's going in our master bedroom (which is a darker blue).
I have a very traditional style so bright colors make me nervous...but I love them in other people's homes....
    hmmmm....
    you just never know! :)

  5. I have a full set of this furniture at my grandmother's house in Texas, that she and my grandfather bought for me when I was a little baby. I plan on painting my set white, and then refinishing the handles with a distressed pale pink or mint green finish and some freehand floral detailing...:)
