New Arrival

There’s something I’d like to share with you all.

Grey and white chevron quilt from Sew Midwestern

There’s a new baby quilt available over at Sew Midwestern!  Super exciting right???

I love messing with people about babies.  Everyone keeps expecting me to be pregnant.  Last week I really wanted a kid.  This week, not so much.  Anyone want to co-parent with Nate and I? One week we have the kid, the next week you have it.  Genius, right?  I’m sure the kid wouldn’t be maladjusted at all.  (Don’t send me hate mail. I’m totally joking.  Or am I?)

All joking aside, the above quilt is lovely.  I kind of wanted to keep it for Ike. I will totally have about four when the time comes for me to give up sleep.  I mean, cuddle a bundle of joy.

Kim and I worked on this lovely quilt together.  These quilts are a labor of love. The quilt  features carefully-chosen 100% cotton fabric.  It is machine pieced and straight-line quilted. (Not easy tasks.)  It is then pre-washed for a soft, broken-in feel. Many woman hours went into creating this handmade keepsake.

Have a fabulous weekend!  My family is in town which means junk shopping galore!  Woo hoo!

Who loves chevron quilts?  Anyone interested in co-parenting? (I kid. I kid.)

  1. Whenever you decide to have kids, the time will be right. But just think of all the great blog posts you'll have when you have a little one! :) Bam I just took baby joking to a new level. The quilt is super cute. Way to go girls! Have a great weekend!

  2. I told Jake recently that I would be more ready for having kids if it wasn't such a permanent, all-the-time-for-the-rest-of-your-life kind of thing. He thought I was crazy, but you might be on to something. Anyway, your quilt is super cute and I'm sure someone who actually has a child all the time will love it!

  3. Great quilt! I have fabric to make a blanket for my new arrival but my due date is in 10 days so I doubt I will get to in before he is born.

Parenting is not easy so you definitely have to be ready, but at the same time you are never quite ready. You just have to make the leap when you are ready enough. (Totally makes sense, right?)

  5. The quilt is adorable. I kinda want to have a baby just so I have a reason to buy the quilt. BTW, I want to keep the quilt even on my off-weeks when the kid is at your place.

  6. As long as you know that none of us will ever believe you when you really ARE pregnant, we're good ;-)

I love the quilt! Such a fun design, and I love it in those crisp neutrals. Forrest is going to be upgraded to a big boy bed soon-ish (I'm putting it off--we'll need the crib for the new baby, but since he hasn't ever tried to get out of the crib himself, I'm hesitant to give him a bed he can escape from!) and I think something like this would make for a nice big boy bedspread. Do you think it would be too much with those big striped curtains in his room, though? (Ready or not, you're my personal interior designer now!)

  7. Hahah. I will so take part in your baby sharing program. We're the same way: I feel like I have to drink and/or wear fitted clothes at family gatherings just so my stomach doesn't get stared at.

Also, this makes me want to learn how to quilt. Because that blankey is adorbz.

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this! We've been trying for a while now so I feel extra motivated to be obvious that we still aren't pregnant just so I don't get the question of doom.

    2. Ha, yes! I did the same thing. 5 years later, everyone now just thinks I'm a chubby alcoholic. ;)

And just forget about ever saying that you're tired, or your feet hurt or you're hungry. And don't try to make yourself comfortable by doing things like fanning yourself when it's warm outside.

  8. 1) I LOVE that quilt. And as soon as this prego figures out what she's gonna do w a nursery (boys are soooo hard) I'm gonna hit you girls up.
    2) I'm rethinking this whole pregnancy thing now because I thought co-parenting was a just synonym for the grandparents. crap. I'm screwed now.

  10. You are definitely onto something with this coparenting thing. I mean, it's still probably not enough to get me to sign onto this baby thing, but it's still a great idea.

Also? The quilt is gorgeous. LOVE it.

  12. we will co parent! I want to buy cute things and hug chubby babies.
however, not so keen on the whole getting up in the middle of the night, and the birth thing too... you can do that part?

also you can make it adorable and stylish things, like this!

  13. I am jealous of your mad quilting skills! I tried but just am not enough of a perfectionist. Maybe I should start again with baby quilts. They are so much smaller! Or I'll just buy one from you guys when the time comes.

PS I'm sure Kim@newlywoodwards would lend you Henry when you need a baby fix.

  15. I didn't think I was ready for a baby before I got pregnant, but since being pregnant it's ALL I want. I can't wait to meet my little girl. SO there's still hope for you. ;) Happy weekend!

  19. The blanket is super cute...and it's a great idea for a dog blanket. (It is a VERY rare occasion when I want kids...I'd rather stick to animals!)

  20. Evil Michelle ;) that blanket is so cute...you guys should should consider making a larger version.
