Hey. We made it through another week. Go us.
It’s hard to write a blog post while watching Jeopardy. Just thought I’d throw that out there.
Here are our favorites from the week. Enjoy!
- 1. The Beetlejuice House on Hooked on Houses: I’ve always been obsessed with the house from Beetlejuice. I have no idea why but I’ve always loved it. It’s quirky farmhouse perfection. This post over at Hooked on Houses shows the house in it’s country and mod states. I have an appreciation for both. Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice.
- 2. 9 Weeks of Healthy Habits with Paisley Print Shoes: Those lovely ladies over at Paisley Print Shoes are at it again. Instead of making New Year’s Resolutions, they are encouraging us all to pick a healthy habit to work on. The “challenge” will take place on the next 9 Mondays (the number of Mondays between now and Christmas…eek!). Who can’t use a little extra motivation to be healthier human being?
- 3. Samsung Galaxy SIII Flip Cover: Fellow Android users probably know that there is a shortage of great phone covers for Android phones. Apple wins again. Things may be changing. I’m loving the idea of this flip cover. I’m adding it to the ol’ Christmas list. I wonder if it helps prevent me from dropping my phone every 2 seconds.
1. iitala Krouvi Beer Mugs from Crate and Barrel: Nate is liking these unique mugs from Crate and Barrel. What guy can’t use more beer mugs? And now he knows the wonders of the Crate and Barrel catalog…but he won’t admit it.
2. Sam Adams Octoberfest: Nate tells me those mugs would be perfect for drinking his favorite beer. Such a dude post.
Ike is debating what he should be for Halloween. Nate thinks he should be a dog. (He’s not a fan of dogs in costume.) What fun is that? Ike is thinking either: 1. Astronaut 2. Sherif or 3. Maybe Nate would compromise on a Dapper Dog costume?
What’s your favorite house from a movie? Beer? Dog costume? Do share.
Big fan of the Octoberfest. We have an instagram shot of that very same brew.
ReplyDeleteGoing to check out that Beetlejuice house. That film gets quoted fairly often around here.
Fun fact: Joe has never fully seen Beetlejuice (even though I constantly watch it). I don't know how that's possible!
ReplyDeleteI loved that house (the original version) because it was so traditional... not my style, but I loved it.
I misread at first and thought you said it's hard to write a blog post ABOUT watching Jeopardy, and my brain immediately started composing blog posts about Jeopardy (I think that scene from Groundhog Day would have to feature prominently)....this seems like not a good thing for my future as a blogger. I had better be careful not to run out of house projects.
ReplyDeleteFiesta the Beagle has a costume from Target for this year....the headless horseman one (I guess, to be precise, she's going to be the horse that the stuffed headless horseman rides)
I hear you on the lack of android accessories! I've been looking for an android compatible alarm clock for months! (NOT one that's designed for an iphone and just as the android plug in on the back)
ReplyDeleteI vote for the dapper dog costume- it's hilarious and could probably be reused when he's invited to future fancy occasions like weddings, etc. I imagine he gets a lot of invites to black tie affairs.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's college roommate had those mugs. They are centiliter mugs, so there were always a lot of science jokes whenever the mugs came out (they were all engineers, so I guess that was easy for them). They are pretty heavy duty, though - somehow we inherited one. I'm still not sure how it snuck all the way from Wisconsin to Virginia...
ReplyDeletelove it! Have a great weekend! Oh and dont hate me but I've never seen all of Beetlejuice.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about Jen & Katie's challenge. And I can out-lame Maury, because I've never seen any of beetlejuice.
ReplyDeleteTake it from me... that flip case does NOT protect from dropping. See, I am still an iPhone user but my husband switched to the Galaxy. Enter me wanting to use his phone for a second and me dropping it on the pavement (2 weeks after the phone purchase). Imagine now a chunk out of the top corner of the phone and a very disappointed hubby. However, husband does love how the phone protects the front of his phone from keys and change in his pocket!
ReplyDeleteI saw that cover in the Samsung commercial where they are making fun of the iPhones. I'm not going to lie, I am an iPhone user, but I thought that cover was awesome...anddddd I really want that Samsung phone. Yup, Apple geeks everywhere are ready to burn me at the stake. :(
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for a Dapper Dog! Ike's already so dapper, it would be a perfect fit! :)
ReplyDeleteI vote for the astronaut costume for Ike!! My dog Chip was a cowboy one year and it looked a lot like the sheriff costume you posted. Let me just tell you how much he LOVED the hat, ha!

Okay, I'm finally catching up on blog reading. I love Paisley Print Shoes blog. I love this idea especially near the holidays :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nate for contributing about what's cool in guy world. I'll totally be stalking these Friday posts so I can buy my husband something dude-friendly for Christmas.
Um, astronaut. No brainer.
I think Ike should be the astronaut...Hank is gonna be a dinosaur!
ReplyDeleteI think Ike should be a pharmacist. ;)
ReplyDeleteI was going to vote for the sheriff, but I do agree w/other commenters that Ike was made for the Dapper Dog.
ReplyDeleteI am SO WITH everyone else and love the dapper dog costume!! And you know what you should do? Compile all of Nate's "digs" as a gift idea list for Christmas!! (Also, thanks for the shout out! we are excited!)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Erin - he should be a pharmacist. Done. (Although Dapper Dog is pretty legit as well.) Thanks also for the shout out - I hope you join us! :)
ReplyDeleteI just wasted way too much time on that website looking at dog costumes. I can't decide either. I'm starting to agree with Nate that mine should just go as dogs this year :).
ReplyDeleteLove the costumes! I haven't bought Rosie one yet but since it is her first Halloween she MUST dress up! I am looking forward to some major silliness in that area! Have a great week!

Those costumes are cute. I bought my dog a simple shirt that says "Trick or Treat" this year. She's been a princess and a witch before.
ReplyDeleteI like the house in "Forrest Gump".
I'm all for the dog costume, but Kevin agrees with Nate. Stewie has never been anything for halloween...poor doggie.
ReplyDeleteOh, surely the dapper dog is cute!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen something like this before :) I love doggies.. Probably I will buy a doggyhouse for him.. His name is Carlo !
