While I continue to recover from this past week-end, I will entertain you with a short story about a headband. And then give you a chance to win your very own. Because I am awesome. And Mindy is awesomer. (That’s a word.)
What am I recovering from? The following photo may help you understand…
Oh, family.
Don’t you just love my headband? Yeah, me too. Here’s the story…
A couple of weeks ago I received a package in the mail. I had won a giveaway from Mindy's Etsy shop! Mindy was one of the very first loyal readers of Décor and the Dog. She’s obviously very trendy. I was very excited to receive one of her creations!
I opened my package.
Nate: “What’s that?” (Asked all nosey husband-like.)
Michelle: “I won a giveaway. It’s a headband.”
Nate: “How do you keep winning crap? And you aren’t really a headband type of girl.
Michelle: “I don’t know how I keep winning.. And I win good stuff. Not crap. And I’m a headband type of girl now. Look how cute it is.”
I am kind of in love with this thing.
Would you like to win a darling headband of your very own? And how about a necklace? Mindy is offering up a "Michelle" necklace and headband set to one lucky reader!
The "Michelle" headband comes in navy blue chiffon and is backed with felt in a coordinating color. The flower measures about 2 inches in diameter and the center is studded with an ornate jewel. The bloom sits on a thin sleek plastic band. The Michelle headband can be worn with a casual tank and jeans or can be dressy enough for a bridesmaid. Michelle is very versatile. (Of course she is.)
The "Michelle" necklace can be worn with everything! The navy chiffon flowers are feminine and dainty. They sit on a shiny link chain to add a bit of toughness. The blooms are backed with felt in a charcoal grey. Each flower measures about 2 inches in diameter and the center is studded with an ornate jewel. The “Michelle” necklace can be worn with a casual tank and jeans or can be dressy enough for a bridesmaid.
Only one of you can win but all Decor And The Dog readers can enjoy 15% off of all purchases by using offer code "IKE15". (That code name melts my heart. This is one of the many reasons that Mindy and I are blog buddies.)
- PRIZE: One "Michelle" necklace and headband set

I can't decide between the Clara headband and the Mila headband. Every since the royal wedding, my co-workers and I have been obsessed with the "fascinator!" We buy headbands that have fascinator-like accoutrements so that we, too, feel royal. It makes working longs days a little more fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the Michelle set!! Being more trendy in 2012 is definitely on the list.... :-)
ReplyDeleteFavorite is the Mila headband. Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeletei love the tutu hair accessories- they would be so perfect on emmy! my favorite gift i gave might have been the "i mustache you a question" pillow i gave to my (hopefully one day) sister in law!
ReplyDeleteI love the Mishy clip. I was looking at similar(but not as nice!) version at Loft. I need it for my cream down vest! My fav gift I gave would have to the X Box to my 3 boys. I hate the video game thing but it's all they wanted and they're reaction was priceless (because we warned them they would never get it:)
ReplyDeleteI like the mary jane necklaces!! jlkeehn3 at hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI love the Michelle necklace AND the headband! I hope those are named after you ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway. I hope I win!
I think i actually like the Michelle collection the best!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never been a headband girl, but you have me convinced!!
Love this give away!!
ReplyDeleteI would love the Rosie Fabric Ring! Very unique & way cool!
My favorite gift I received is a 20 inch necklace with a silver camera accented with cubic zirconia around the shutter. :) LOVE this since a picture taking freak. ;)
Happy 20121....
Everything is cute! I love the Michelle headbands, but I think the Mila might be my favorite. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I liked most of my Christmas gifts, but my favorite was probably a new dress I got and decor stuff for the house. Oh and glass containers with lids so we can throw out all of our crappy plastic storage. (The thrills of being a homeowner, right?) :)
ReplyDeleteThe Mila headband is beautiful, and definitely my favorite. Favorite gift given: suitjamas, just like Barney's in How I Met Your Mother. Favorite gifts received: a quilt from my mother-in-law and my great-grandmother's china passed down by my mom.
ReplyDeleteOoo, loving the Michelle headband. You look great in a headband, by the way. You can tell Nate I said so.
ReplyDeleteOkay that headband was just MADE for a sassy bob like yours. I love the satine barrette and the mila headband. But I would also take one of those gigantic baby girl flower headbands in every single color. :) Because this baby girl needs ACCESSORIES, even if she hasn't been born yet.
ReplyDeleteCute! I like the Mila Headband. Thanks for the giveaway!! =)
ReplyDeleteCute! What does Nate know about headbands anyway? I think it's adorable!
ReplyDeleteI like everything, but you know I have a fondness for little girl stuff. The KiKi clips are high on the list of favorites.
I'm pretty much diggin most of FSL's items, but if I had to choose one, I think the Kate Feather headband is stinkin' adorable.
ReplyDeleteHmm Christmas fav? Probably the new DSLR camera I made everyone give me money towards and then I treated myself to the rest of it. Then my mom went and snuck in a Cuisinart k-cup fancy, dancy coffee maker. Now, I can be hyper and run around taking lots of pics - making my dog hate me more (he's often the subject of me testing settings. To the point where he looks away when he sees the camera. All the time.)
I feel like I'm cheating because I won the doggie giveaway this past year, but those headbands are beyond cute, and I am a headband girl, so I'm entering anyway :p I pretty much love the Lime Green Cheetah Print Feather Sasha headband *rrrawr!*
ReplyDeleteAnd my favorite Christmas gift so far (we sill haven't exchanged with either of our parents), has ben the FitBit that Eric got for me. I'm an absolute addict to fitness stuff. Those infomercials are all aimed at me, I'm telling you. I've been wanting a Bodybugg forever, but Eric did some research and decided this thing is better - it tracks my steps, floors, calories, activity levels, EVERYTHING. And I am OBSESSED. I may or may not have run around in circles yesterday for about 20 minutes to watch the step counter rise. But no one can really be sure if that happened ;)
I've always wanted to be a headband girl... maybe this is my chance!
ReplyDeleteI really like the lindsey clip- such a pretty color.
Girl, that headband looks adorable on you! Don't let Nate tell you otherwise!
ReplyDeleteSo many cute headbands, but the kate feathered headband is soooo cute. I'm also loving the Michelle one too ;)
I love the Lizzie headband, but I don't think I could ever pull it off.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift I gave this year was a padded camera strap cover with a pocket (for my sister who is glued to her camera) that I made myself. I actually made 2 or 3 before it turned out right... oops :)
Oh I would def be drawn to the baby headbands for my little one!! Can never have enough of those! ;) The mishy clip is pri my fav!
ReplyDeletei love the mary jane necklace! so cute
ReplyDeleteI like the Michelle because it;s like nothing I already own! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the Robin brooch. Pretty cute!
ReplyDeleteI love that I don't have to like you and the shop a million places for extra entries. Keeping it simple is the way to go :)
ReplyDeleteI am such a headband girl, I recently grew my hair out and love wearing headbands so I don't play with my hair.
Anyway, I love the Fabric Flower Rosie Ring but would put it on a headband ...
The favorite gift I gave was business cards to my FIL. I had 1,500 cards made for him, he's already called to thank me and tell me he's given away many, many cards in just a few days!
Does length of my comment contribute to my chances of winning? ;)
You're totally a headband girl.
ReplyDeleteI like the Michelle headband.
Fave gift received: iphone (Siri and I are BFF)
Fave given gift(s): custom wedding photo albums and jute wrapped monogram wreaths
The headband looks awesome. And I love your sweater!
ReplyDeleteI like the Mila or April headband. And, of course, yours rocks too.
Favorite gift received: a head massager. Ridiculous but true. It feels so amazing!
Favorite gift given: BBQ gift basket
My favorite is the little Mary Clip (followed by the Vanessa Custom Peacock Wedding clip....congrats to Vanessa, wherever she may be!)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Christmas gift I received: earrings made by five year-old niece...a) they match each other and b) they're gorgeous! What a talented girl
Favorite Christmas gift I gave: pjs to my sweet mom
Hi, Ike!!!!
I LOVE all the little girls hair things!! (With 2 girls I'm slightly obsessed). My favorite gift was a promise of a NYC trip with my husband. :-) And for the record, I think I'd give the necklace to Jen because it is something she would DEFINITELY wear and keep the headband for myself! It would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win!
I dig the Michelle Headband, and not because it's the giveaway item (but that rocks) - it's my fav!
ReplyDeleteI am really digging the Kate Feather Crown Headband. It's so different (in a good way!)!
ReplyDeleteI really love all of the peacock items, but I think my favorite would have to be the feather crown headband!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that my favorite gift I received was a set of those amazing Mason Jar Wine Glasses all over Pinterest, but my favorite gift to give was stagefront tickets to the Miranda Lambert concert to my best friend. She just about died of excitement!
I am loving the Mila Headband, but there are so many cute things in her shop!
ReplyDeletePretty sure my favorite is the Michelle set!! Adorable stuff all around though.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite xmas gift this year was my curling wand. Easy peasy 5 minute head of curls. Thanks mommmmmmm
I love the Michelle headband and the Kate Feather Crown Headband. Super cute.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift was a Tibetan singing bowl.
My favorite is the Michelle headband! kmad813@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all of Mindy's work!!!!! And I'd love to win! I ordered tons of her headbands for the little ladies in our family and they loved them!!!! Also, I am now the proud owner of one of her headbands and a bracelet. LOVE THEM!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I don't have a baby, but that ginormous purple Elizabeth flower on the baby is definitely my favorite! So adorable!
