Ike and I have exciting news….
We’re expecting…….an eating area make-over!
Someone go retrieve my mother from Babies ‘R Us and kindly explain that I’m a horrible daughter and I will never joke about being pregnant again.
Phase 1 of the make-over: The addition of beautiful chairs. The Jackson Metal Tub Chair from World Market, to be exact.
I had previously mentioned my obsession with farmhouse tables and metal chairs. I had a particularly interesting day at work. I was drooling over chairs online and noticed that these lovelies were 25% off. Nate and I had the following conversation. Please note that I am impulsive. Nate is not. He is my voice of reason.
Michelle: “I’m obsessed with these metal chairs. I’m going to buy them.”
Nate: “Whatever.”
Michelle: “No, I’m serious. I have to have them.”
Nate: “Whatever.”
Michelle: “Stop messing with me.”
Nate: “You’re a big girl.”
Michelle: Click. “Okay. I did it. You are to blame.”
Come to find out, he actually likes this style. The dude continues to surprise me lately.
I have only briefly tested out the chairs but they are pretty darn comfy. The metal-ly goodness makes me smile.
This was my first World Market experience. It was a good one! The chairs arrived quickly and were packaged well. They look exactly like the images online. I have this problem with buying things online and then hating them when they arrive. Not the case with these lovelies.
Ike even approves…
Please tell me I’m not the only impulsive person out there. I am now on a self-imposed house spending freeze until after the holidays. Or until my next crazy idea arises.
Phase 2 = table
Phase 3 = lighting
What do you think of the chairs? Who are my fellow impulsive readers? Who thinks Ike needs a hair cut?
Love those chairs....can't wait to see the new arrival...the breakfast area that is!!!! :))
ReplyDeleteYour poor mom!
ReplyDeleteMichelle! Bad! Your mom is going to kill you.
ReplyDelete;) Love the chairs, though!
I love the chairs! Can't wait to see how it all comes together.
ReplyDeleteAnd that was a naughty trick! LOL...
Love the chairs! I can't wait to see everything come together!
ReplyDeleteI just ordered $358 worth of sexy bathroom vent fans and blamed Robert for it. You didn't know bathroom vent fans could be sexy, did you?
Sincerely,
Your bad influence blogging buddy
Oh and I ordered a new shower head and shower arm for the bathroom we aren't working on. I'm truly awful.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
YBIBB (come on, I couldn't type that out again)
I love the chairs and Ike is adorable. Your mother must be crying and laughing at your silliness. Glad the chairs arrived and you still like them. I bought Charlie on an impulse; spur of the moment puppy purchase. Nothing like a chair.Chairs cant eat your favorite flip flops. They could however scratch your floors, how are the feet covered? My impulsive puppy purchase has blessed my heart. He has a been a joy and a challenge. But of course he is only seven months old and the joys are increasing and challenges;hmm ,lets stay in a happy place. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWord! I may or may not be perusing WM online as we speak.
ReplyDeleteOMG I thought your news was going to be totally different. But great news anyway. I am always an impulsive buyer.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those chairs. I've been drooling over them. You're a lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the chairs! Farmhouse tables are amazing - agreed! I'm with you on having an impulse shopping problem. I can't stop myself. The conversation you had with your hubby? Happens all the time in our house, too. Don't you just want them to tell you "no" sometimes, to keep your impulses under control? lol!
ReplyDeleteYou naughty girl! I got all sorts of excited with that title and intro. I was even brainstorming what little hat I was going to send you as a baby gift. NOW YOU GET NOTHING. (Except for awesome chairs, which I am so excited to see in your eating area!)
ReplyDeleteTotal approval. Love the chairs and way to score a deal!
ReplyDeleteMichelle you literally made me laugh out loud...someone go get your mom from babies-r-us. hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those chairs. Seriously. I might have to go get some myself. I'd say this was an awesome impulse buy. Sometimes those really are the best.
Hahaha. Awesomely mean trick on your poor mom. Love those chairs too, they'll look great with a new farmhouse table you've been obsessing over!
ReplyDeleteHaha that is so mean! I do love your chairs!!!
ReplyDeleteLove them. I can't wait to see the light you pick!
ReplyDeleteI am the queen of impulse shopping!!
Too funny :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm impulsive with many of my projects/purchases too. My hubby often gets annoyed (because I often need his help with whatever project I've started), but he usually likes the end result.
That will be fabulous! Have you seen Miss Mustardseed's farmhouse table tutorial? It looks really straight forward (and you built a mud room so you could totally do it!)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your bundles of joy!
ReplyDeleteSuper excited to see this table you're working on.
For April Fools this year I posted an ultrasound photo on my facebook page. My parents aren't on facebook, so I didn't worry. Nope, someone called them. My mom didn't think it was very funny.
Oh, you are such a tease. Loving those chairs and I can't wait to see them in their new home.
ReplyDeleteI was seriously DYING of excitement when you said you were expecting. Your mother and I are very irritated with you right now.
ReplyDeleteBut, seriously. I love the chairs. Obsessed would be the word. I've been banned from online shopping by my husband. Something about retirement. So I'll be living vicariously through you. Okay?
Is that a new rug?
Ahhh I love them! I just got a world market flier in the mail today, and those chairs, on sale, are on the front! I immediatly began brainstorming where they could live in our house! I love that you got them!!! BTW there is a world market like 10 minutes from my house, and the store is awesome. Like too awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh you cheeky thing, you had us all going for a minute!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely of the impulsive variety and make the occassional online oops buy! I love your chairs though, I talked my hubby into buying me some Eames DSW replica's for my bday this year...how could he say no...? ;)
Impulsive buyer here!
ReplyDeleteYou should watch out: joking about pregnancy is a leading cause of actually becoming pregnant. I can vouch for that.
hahahahaha...."Someone go retrieve my mother from Babies ‘R Us." I'm still laughing. Great choice on the new chairs! :)
ReplyDeleteYou got me! Really, your poor mom. I do love those chairs, and every single time I went into World Market, I would drool, but unfortunately, they don't go with my decor. I am waiting for a set from WM though. They are going to look lovely in your dining room. Wish my husband had agreed to our new chairs like your did, how awesome would that had been :)
ReplyDeleteNow I know how to get my mother on April Fool's Day :)
ReplyDeleteYour new chairs are awesome, and will be especially awesome with your eventual farmhouse table.
O.M.G. your mom is going to kill you if she hasn't already. You *almost* had me for a second. Almost.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your lovely chair purchase. Nate is actually on board with building a table? Or are you calling my dad now that he's almost done with my pantry? :oP
loooove these amazing chairs!! Can't wait to see the makeover completed :)
ReplyDeleteok number one i thought you really were expecting a BB at first and got super excited for you. Probably not as excited as your momma did....
ReplyDeleteSecond, love those chairs. I love world market too. I drool over their stuff online and have visited the store a few times. Such fun goodies there.
third. I LOVE ike's face in that last pic lol
I'm so excited that you got those chairs since you were drooling over the ones you posted about. I'm an impulsive shopper as well and have recently made some expensive mistakes getting too excited about finishing my room. Oh well, it's all a learning experience. I think your room is going to look great!
ReplyDeletePerfect chairs, I can't wait to see the rest of the makeover!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, Ike looks so thrilled in the first pic.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! I was fooled initially. :) Those chairs are awesome! I kind of had a feeling they would end up in your home after your previous post!
ReplyDeleteAm I impulsive... yes. Yesterday I talked Corey into purchasing a dog bed specifically for the car (totally necessary).
I don't think Ike needs a haircut! He is adorable and scruffy!
Definitely thought you were announcing a little bundle of joy, hahahaha! I guess you can consider your chairs your bundles of joy - they sure are pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the chairs! Can't wait to see the rest of the eating area come together.
ReplyDeleteI try to plan things out in my life, but every once in a while I give in to impulse. It's how I bought my car kind of on accident
