Who’s Hiring

There is a side of Ike that we haven’t mentioned much on the blog.

He has A LOT of energy. And by A LOT, I mean A LOT.  His high energy is one of the things that we love the most about him.  It’s also one of the most challenging things about being a proud parent of a Wire Fox.

Last night he was still crazy after an hour long walk, tricks, toy chasing, and bone chewing.  Nate and I on the other hand were exhausted. We decided that Ike needs a day job so he would be equally as exhausted. I mean, he is almost 5 which in people years puts him at an age where he needs to start pulling his weight.

He wants you all to know that he’s not just a pretty face.  He has many useful skills.

The following is a picture resume:

My dogs are completly lazy. They are all day laying in their bed, waiting food time, haha

  2. He's hired as my bed warmer as he looks so cute! Although my cat Homer may not be too impressed.

  3. So cute! My dog "talks" and can dance so we always tell him he needs to go get a job. Maybe our dogs could have a movie career?

  4. He's too cute. Jack is almost 4 and we're still waiting for him to calm down. Maybe Ike and Jack should get together and wear each other out.

  5. Michelle - Ike it too cute!! So fun! :)

PS I love your rug in the last pic...where did you get it??

  6. Ike is rockin' that bandana! I bet you could also tie a coke to his back and have him carry that around to. Drink transportation! If I had a dog I'd totally ruin him by making him do humiliating things like that ha!

  7. My kids plead for a dog every so often but I know who will end up taking care of it - I particularly dread the winter months. So cute and quite a character!

  8. Absolutely adorable! We have a "toy" (though he grew to be much bigger) Australian Shepherd that is pretty much a tornado on paws. But SO much fun. :)

  9. My dog sleeps 18 hours a day. She keeps laps warm.

She does go to doggie daycare occasionally. Just an idea to look into. It's expensive but once or twice a week might not kill the bank!

  10. Ike is soooo cute. Our two are currently in BIG trouble. They ate the tongues of David's hunting boots...and dug his shotgun (in case) out from it's hiding spot and tore the case up. Daddy is mmmmmmmaaadddddd. I think they need more exercise...or something.

  14. Isn't it funny how they always want your pillow? Our Wire Fox does the same thing and refuses to move. When our Shitzshu of 18 years passed away, Teddy was so bereft. So, we got him a jack russell puppy to love on and train. Worked wonders...for him.

  15. Ike is the cutest! We have a Brittany Spaniel named Gus who is also VERY "energetic"! He has what we call nightly "freak outs" where he just runs around the house trying to get into trouble. And this is after a long walk! :)

  16. Ike is a Renaissance Man! I think he is best at looking adorable, though. I love the shot of him in the bandana. I don't think his legs can go much further apart before a front split happens, hehe! :)

  17. LOVE the last picture... so cute! My cockapoo thinks "bed warmer" is part of her responsibilities too :)

  18. Ike is too funny. :) The bed warmer duty is particularly nice of him.

  19. Mine definitely had a long list of qualifications for any job. As long as that job required killing stuffed buffalo, smooshing pillows, or sleeping... with a little ball chasing thrown in.

  20. LMAO! Those pictures are awesome! Can you fly Ike out for a visit... PLEASE, pretty PLEASE! Maybe he could get my butt out running again!

  21. ummmmm -- didn't see the bikini model gig on his resumé...

Our Auggie doggie wakes the boys up at 6 every morning for school. (He's actually barking at the cat sleeping on the top bunk, but that gets the mini-men rolling.)

  22. I agree..my cat Ruby needs to pay her way but she gets away with her cuteness!

  23. Ike is hired for the following positions: Co-pillow smoosher, and co-bandana model. He'll have to share those with Ted =) Good luck exhausting him - I feel your pain - terriers are the BEST, but tiring!

  24. Ike is such a jack-of-all-trades. I'd totally hire him to model some bandanas, but only if he has solid references.

PS- Your Ike-only posts are frickin genius.
