I struggle with hanging stuff on walls. I’m very indecisive. I get sad putting holes in new dry wall. I’m working on it. Baby steps.
I think art in the bathroom is the hardest. What’s appropriate to hang on your bathroom walls?
I struggled with this conundrum for awhile. And then it hit me.
I want the man and woman symbols that you see on public restrooms. You know, so Nate and I don’t get our sides confused…
I asked my mom if her fancy little Cricut machine had a man and woman. And it totally did. Score. Cricut cut people placed in Target frames. Easy and cheap bathroom art.
What’s hanging in your bathroom?

omg this is so cute! I might have to try a variation when I redo our bath.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any art in my bathroom yet, unless a marimekko shower curtain counts. I'm tempted to get a replica of the Beach Closed signs from the movie Jaws to go on the wall, but I'm not 100% sure how it'll hold up to the moisture.
ReplyDeleteLove it! You are giving me plenty of ideas for my bathroom (which currently consists of a walk in shower and wonky toilet). It maybe finished by Christmas (I hope) :/
ReplyDelete@ Nick above, you can get images printed onto waterproof acrylic sheets especially for bathrooms. Just think of it as an acrylic style canvas!
I love the simple bold graphic.
ReplyDeletethat's hysterical!! i love it!! we actually have framed pictures of food in our bathroom....i'm not sure what that says about us. LOL

ReplyDeletewhat the heck! i don't know why that comment posted 3x. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteHaha that is too funny! Love it! I am really loving your blog. I don't have a lot of art in our bathroom. I have one Paris bulletin board. Which I guess now that I think about it...is kind of weird.
ReplyDeleteLove it. My husband sometimes uses my sink and I have to clear my throat and let him know that ain't your side buddy. Maybe I should do this so he doesn't forget. Ha!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't want to put holes in drywall there are tons of 3M products you can use to hang up various art in your house. I've only ever rented so I'm very careful to not damage the walls whenever I decorate
ReplyDeleteTotally awesome!
ReplyDeleteI used to be afraid to put holes in the walls too - so I used push pins for many of the things I was hanging - much smaller holes.
Decorating a bathroom is hard! I finally decided on some homemade map art for ours and oh my gosh, when I put it up (above the toilet) I got so many comments about from my husband's friends.
ReplyDeleteGee, I wonder why. Hysterical.
Oooooo I love your bathroom! Love the colors you used - especially the paint color. What is that? A green, a grey? I can't tell. :) Love it though.
ReplyDeleteThese look really cute! Clever idea!
ReplyDeleteBathroom art is hard since you don't want to put anything in there that might be damaged by humidity. So I just have decorative mirrors...
ReplyDeleteI love the counter top in your bathroom- super nice!
Very cute, Charlie is better, but not completely. We are still a little worried, the medicine they gave him to decontaminate his system from the vitamin d caused pancreatitis. He is very tired mid-afternoon and still takes pain meds. How much does your dog eat? He seems very hungry all the time, which is a side effect of the pancrease issues. Thnx for asking, we so love our little Charlie.
ReplyDeletenow those are fun, michele! love them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea. You know, those boys need a reminder of whose turf is whose. I also have trouble with knowing what art to put in the bathroom so I have none. At one time I was going with a greecian theme so I bought these unframed, mounted photos of the coastline in Greece (gorgeous btw) from a friend/photographer, brought them home, set them down, and never looked at them again. Now I'm on to a different theme. Wow, Michelle-you always bring up topics that I'm struggling with as well. Thanks a lot! Just Kidding.
ReplyDeletetoo cute!
ReplyDeleteaw those are VERY VERY cute!!

These are too cute! We have nothing hanging on our bathroom walls because they're striped so I'm just going to act like they don't need anything else. :) And our other bathroom still has the previous owners' kids names painted on them...does that count?
ReplyDeletehaha, i LOVE it! We've got birdie decor in our bathroom (http://designbuildlove.co/?p=453). It's bright, colorful, and fun! Can't say it was easy to find something "bathroom appropriate" though... your's just might be the best pick!
ReplyDeleteThat's so stinking cute and easy! I love it! I know how you feel...I am so fearful of hanging pictures/art because I hate holes and my tastes change so regularly!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! Such a creative idea :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea to use the Cricut! Those remind me of the man & woman symbol bud vases from CB2! That might be cute addition to your new theme...
ReplyDeleteI'm not stalking you! I've just been gone for a while and went through and read all my missed posts of yours! :) Anyways, I love this! I showed Rob and he liked it too... he never likes anything! So cute!
ReplyDeleteSuch a simple, effective and great-looking idea - something different, for sure. No artwork in the masterbath yet and I am rethinking the others.
ReplyDeletePerfect quirky solution.
ReplyDeleteI like a little splash of color in the bathroom, so I have a framed poster calendar from Linnea Designs. I just insert the new one every month. That way I know what day it is when I get up every morning plus the artwork is super cute.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! The only thing hanging in my bathroom is a towel rack ;p
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I need a mom who has a cricut machine too! Or just a cricut machine, maybe.
