Stay-At-Home Dog Mom

We’re on day #2 of a five day week-end.  Life is good.

Ike and I have decided that I am going to be a stay-at-home dog mom.  Who else thinks this is a brilliant plan?  We just need to get Nate on board. (Can you tell he’s the only rational one that lives in this house?)

Ike loved yesterday.  There was extra time to play with a Wubba…

Instead of cleaning the wood floors (It’s a never-ending battle to keep these floors clean.  Kind of like laundry.), Ike and I decided to take a nap.  All of that Wubba play made us sleepy….

How are you spending this holiday week-end?  We are actually going to take it pretty easy.  We are going to help Nate’s sister re-do her kitchen on Saturday but the rest of the week-end will be spent relaxing…and snuggling!

  1. Stay-at-home dog mum sounds like a great plan to me. Work is way overrated!

  2. Awesome air shot!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who struggles to keep the floors clean. Dark floors look pretty, but they show a lot of paw marks!!

  3. I think it's a stellar idea. You could set up a poll on the blog and if we all vote yes then Nate has to go along with it. Brilliant, right? I'll vote for you twice.

We're working on the house. We were supposed to be ONLY working on the house, but apparently we're going to be quite social this weekend, too. : ) And some shopping. Hooray for shopping!

  4. Great shots! Ike's too cute with the sleep mask on. Jack hates when we put stuff on him.

I'm a stay-at-home dog mom 2 days a week. The excitement has worn off for Jack. If he could have it his way he would have a stay-at-home dog mom and dad.

We're taking it easy this weekend, too. It's supposed to be 101° today. Gah! I'm definitely looking forward to our friend's pool party on Monday.

  6. Awwww.... you two are too cute. Love that last photo.

I'm all about being a stay-at-home pet parent. And 5-day weekends, for that matter.

  7. Oh Ike!! He is so cute and agile! Hello leapster! I would die to be a stay at home dog mom, James says its fine as long as I can somehow contribute to the financial bottom line as much as I do now...
So not gonna happen anytime soon. Fun to dream right? Enjoy your long weekend, I will be laboring away and dreaming on vacation.

  12. Your plan sounds great, Michelle, except...who would service the clowns if you quit your job? (I hope that doesn't sound bad. I clearly mean servicing them with their medication.)

This weekend marks the end of summer for me, so I am going to love every minute that I don't see 5:15 AM and 15 year-olds.

Enjoy your time off! You deserve it! :)

  14. You need to buy "Dear Mrs. LaRue, Letters From Obedience School" by Mark Teague. Maybe I'll buy it for you...or more like for Ike. It's a children's book about a dog named Ike who is sent to obedience school and writes letters home to his owner. We read it today at school and I thought about you and Ike the whole time. :) Next time you're at Barnes & Noble, head to the children's section and read it. You'll smile. :)

  15. Haha! Why not? Maybe I can be a stay at home to Harry and Georgia and we can have virtual doggie play dates :)
    Love Ike's eye mask.
