Game Day

Tomorrow is a big day in the state of Iowa.

It’s the Iowa Hawkeyes versus the Iowa State Cyclones football game.  This game is huge because we live in Iowa and there is nothing better to do than argue over who is going to win a football game.

The casa de Decor and the Dog is rooting for the Hawkeyes.

Ike has his game day gear on already…Hawkeye bandana and collar.  He’s confident the Hawks will pull off a victory.

Labor Day 083

We’ve been practicing our Hawkeye touchdown “high ten”…

Labor Day 103

We asked Ike if he’d rather be a Cyclone fan or would he rather be dead?  This was his response…

Labor Day 080

How are you spending your week-end?  Will you be watching football, teaching your dog funny tricks, or trying to get back the few minutes you spent reading this post? Go Hawks!

  3. Living in England I have no idea who the Hawkeyes are! But I love the fact that Ike has a fancy bandana and can do a high ten! He looks very classy :)

  5. Football is HUGE in Oklahoma too. There are a lot of divided households here, but for me, who I root for depends on who I'm with. I'm a people please... or a cop out.

  7. I'm still smarting after my alma mater, W&M, got stomped on by UVA last week-end. I don't follow college football enough to comment one way or another on the Hawks/Cyclones rivalry, but I'll throw in a "Go Hawks" for you! Love the high ten.

  8. Love it! My dog has a Michigan jersey that I'm sure he loves wearing every saturday :) We've started teaching him the Michigan Fight Song (the Vicotrs) and getting him to raise his paw at the right time, its pretty great!

Also as a fellow Big Ten supporter I can root for the Hawkeyes this weekend as well! Go Blue and Go Hawks!

  17. Go Georgia Bulldogs! But I won't hate you since Iowa seems so far away and irrelevant to my little SEC world. That shot of Ike giving you a high-ten is ridiculous. I think he might be part human.

  19. I found your blog through a link on akitchentablefortwo, and I LOVE your decorating style! I'm in the process of formulating my plan for kitchen remodeling in Northern Virginia, and I just can't settle on what I want to do! I kept thinking 1950s retro-style, but I fell in love with that coral paint you used onthe dresser - with the big white knobs...*sigh. Adorable! Bright colors always make me smile...I'm looking forward to scanning through your pictures and getting some decorating ideas! Thanks for the posts!
