Pretty in Pink

Remember this nightstand I purchased for $0.50 at a local garage sale?

It’s now looking pretty…in pink…

Nate’s sister had me on the look out for an inexpensive nightstand that didn’t have a drawer.  She wanted it for my niece (who just turned 2).  She’s moving into her big girl room soon and needed a “new” piece of furniture.  She’s growing up so fast.  I’m excited to see her big girl room because her nursery cute is pretty cute! (The stripe looks a little brighter in this photo but it’s the same color as the nightstand.)

I have two “pros” on my “pros and cons” list regarding having children. One is decorating a nursery and the other is dressing the child in cute clothes….which probably explains why my only child is covered in fur!

This was a super inexpensive make-over for me.  I had all of the supplies I needed (you can read about my furniture painting process here).  Nate’s sister supplied me with the pink paint.  It also only took me about 1 1/2 hours to complete.  Not too bad.

  6. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Thank you so much! Can't wait to see it in person. Natalie loves it, too. She told me it was "neat". (Where she picked that word up, I don't know.)

I'm painting her headboard as soon as I have a dresser picked out and we move her into her big bed. I might need your assistance :o)

  8. That's adorable! And for 50 cents . . . nice work! I love your "pro" list for having kids . . . my list also consisted of cute clothes as well as cute accessories (except I had a boy--there are no accessories) and themed birthday parties. And in response to your comment the other day about getting weird looks when you wear dresses in IA . . . um, YES. It's outrageous. You'd think I were wearing a clown wig for the weird looks I get. And toss in some colorful tights and I might as well be shaking my baby in public for all the scornful faces they send my way. Davenport is definitely not ready for the colorful tights trend.

  9. Wow, isn't it amazing what a bit of paint can do? It is so adorable and perfect for your niece's big girl room. Just so you know, once the kids hit about 18 months they want to dress themselves so your fun ends there:) Stick with fur baby!

  13. That little table is so adorable! It will look perfect in that room. I just finished up painting a vintage 1950's radio/record player cabinet to go in my craft room. http://ourwashingtonsummer.blogspot.com/2011/06/beauty-is-in-eye-of-beholder.html
