House Tour- Mudroom

You caught a sneak peak our mudroom in a previous post.
Here’s the full tour….small spaces are so hard to photograph…

Amazingly boring, right?

Don’t worry.  I have plans.  They involve my father-in-law, some tools, and some lumber…maybe some coat hooks and storage baskets.  I just need to finalize some ideas…if you’ve been reading long enough you know that I’m nothing but indecisive!

And because I feel bad lying to you…I hate when bloggers do that…this is what our mudroom actually looks like…

It houses a lovely dog litter box.

Yes, Ike is litter trained.  I can think of no possible way to make this attractive but trust me, it’s worth the ugliness to not have to take the dog outside to do his business in an Iowa blizzard.

There you have it.  The truth.  I feel so much better.

Anyone have any great mudroom inspiration photos?

Anyone have any clever ways to help me out with this litter box situation?  The one major problem is that he won’t use it if there is anything in his way to get to it….he’s lazy…

  1. Oh, the plans you have for your room... can't wait to see it all done up! In our current home we have both a laundry room and a small mud room at he garage entrance. I have to crack up at the doggie litter box, we've had 5 dogs over the past 20 years, and I've never seen on of these!

your litter training post was so funny! (for some reason i couldnt comment on it though...something funny with the internet, i guess)
I cant wait to see the what happens in this room. Such potential.
btw, have you seen those fancy boxes they make for cat litter boxes that look like small end tables? Maybe you can hide the litter box in something?

  9. I know this is ancient news [at least in the blogosphere!] but I was wondering if you had considered something like this [http://www.moderncat.net/2011/02/25/introducing-urbancatdesign-new-line-of-modern-cat-furniture-from-the-netherlands/] Scroll down to the litterbox one.
Obviously you'd have to modify it so one whole side was open, if he's so lazy :P but I think it's an awesome idea!
