Curtain Woes

Remember my master bedroom curtain drama?  I went from curtains to roman shades and back to curtains again.  (Read about it here.) (Take a tour of our master bedroom here.)

After searching for every grey/silver/platinum curtain ever made (Seriously. I wish I was joking.), I narrowed the selection down to these 3 options…all from West Elm…

I bit the bullet back in February and ordered option B (even though I am still madly in love with C….I just could not bring myself to spend over half of my monthly budget on curtains….just couldn’t do it….but they are so very pretty…). But I think know option B will look equally as fabulous for about half of the cost.

Why aren’t these babies hanging yet???

Back in February they were on back order until March 9th.  Fine. Whatever.

On March 10th I clicked on my order history to find out that they were on further back order until March 29th…..this is like moving Christmas morning…or my birthday….come on West Elm!!  Don’t do this to a girl with no patience!!!

As March 29th “back order day” draws near , I have this horrible fear that I am going to wait this long and the grey is going to be all wrong in our bedroom.

Does anyone else have panic attacks about curtains?

Have you waited for something that was on back order for what seemed like a lifetime?  How’d it turn out?

  1. Some of the best things in life are worth the wait.... I'm sure the curtains your ordered will fall into this catagory! Can't wait to see them up! See... now you have me waiting with you!

  2. You made a great choice. B had the most contrast. C was pretty, but they'd get lost and blend in with your walls. Can't wait to see pics of the curtains in their new home!

  3. I like B. I think all will be pretty.

Patience is hard. I don't have much. Or any, really.

My sister-in-law waited for nearly 5 months LITERALLY for a backordered rug on Target.com for the baby's nursery. They kept pushing it back. She paid for it with a giftcard and didn't figure she needed to keep the gift card so she was kinda stuck. Luckily, 2 weeks before Addy arrived, she found a nearly identical, gorgeous rug at Target for the nursery on sale for $70. The other was over $400 online. Crazy! But it all worked out and they got her a new gift card for her refund.

    That didn't help, did it?

  5. Hi,
Did you get your curtains? How did choice B work out? I am myself contemplating buying Choice A from west elm in the color blue sage which is how I stumbled upon your blog. Have you seen them in person? Are they shimmery as the description claims? Love your blog and will be reading more of it!

  6. Ann-

I purchased B. I LOVE them. The fabric is nice and think. I've never purchased curtains more than $20 before. These are worth it!
