We all love the photos that DSLRs can take but we all hate lugging them around. Right? Right.
I was harping on Nate awhile back because I felt that we weren’t using our DSLR enough. We’d take our crappy point and shoot and get craptacular photos. It’s pretty dumb to have craptacular photos when you own a DSLR. Right? Right.
Nate’s complaint was that he didn’t like wearing the camera backpack that he owned (especially in places like Chicago). We began our search for the perfect gender neutral yet easy to lug around camera bag.
We agreed upon the Lowepro Exchange Messenger Camera Bag in grey. (My parent’s kindly purchased this for me for my birthday. Thanks givers of life.) We like that the bag is a neutral color, has good camera protection and has lots of storage compartments but isn’t bulky.
Chicago was our first time testing the bag out. (Yeah, I'm right on top of this posting stuff on time business.) I actually didn’t mind carrying it around…even when it was 1000 degrees outside.
Hello, Bean/Cloud/Shiny Object in Chicago…
The bag has lots of compartments which came in handy for money, sunscreen, lip balm, Band-Aids, phones, etc.
We’re happy with our camera bag compromise! I mean it's not an Ona Bag but for the price, it's a keeper!
How do you carry around your camera? What are your camera bag requirements?
I was in no way compensated for this post. Lowepro doesn’t know we exist. We do, however, love their little grey bag and thought we’d share!
You look like a real city dweller with that bag, walking around on your phone. ;) We need something like this too, since we take our crappy one on vaca because we don't feel like hauling the other one around.
ReplyDeleteCool bag....I usually throw mine in my purse and it's heavy! I like this option.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation. I have the same problem! And look at how stylish you are! Love the outfit more : )
ReplyDeleteHmmm....good idea!! I do the same thing - I have a DSLR but I just throw my point and shoot in my purse since I don't want to carry around my "real" camera.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your outfit is amazing. I can't even believe I'm saying that, because I don't think I could ever pull off a striped maxi skirt, but you look great!
I totally agree, I hate to carry my DSLR because it's so heavy, and I currently own two camera bags, but usually just put the camera in my purse :(. Love your skirt btw, you are one very stylish gal!
ReplyDeleteWe made the same decision last year and bought a Lowepro messenger bag/camera bag. It's not the same one, but it's the same idea! I like that it doesn't look like a camera bag but it still protects the camera....and the other 25 pounds of crap I throw in there.
ReplyDeletevery nice! I usually just stick mine in my purse because lets be honest i could fit two in there! But, I have to be extra super careful when i do so.
ReplyDeleteWe just have a regular camera bag for ours. It does the job but now I wish we had a cuter one.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your skirt. I could never pull it off but it looks amazing on you!
I'm embarrassed to say that I usually just toss my camera in my purse (although I do take off the lens and put on the protective lids/caps!). I haven't gotten around to buying a bad that I really like.. oops :)
ReplyDeleteWow - I love this bag. I just downsized my camera to a mirrorless camera - the features of a dslr but closer in size to a point and shoot, which means I can drop it in my purse.
ReplyDeleteI def. need a new camera bag. I looked like such a dork this weekend at Niagara Falls carrying around a camera bag and a purse- total tourist look.
ReplyDeleteCute skirt btw!

You seriously look like a model in these pictures. The bag is definitely a great compromise for you and hubby. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteI too have lusted after the Ona bag. I like the one you went with though since I know Daniel would never carry the Ona one around willingly. I'm all for gender neutral if it saves my lazy self from carrying the camera.
ReplyDeleteWe use a grey bag I found on etsy. I like it a lot though we haven't taken it on vacay yet. I LOVE your skirt, though.
ReplyDeleteI like the bag. Cute and stylish, yet simple enough for a dude to carry it. I've had the same camera bag from Walmart for probably 10 years. I've been looking for a new one, but I want to get a new camera first. Come on, Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI need a DSLR so I can have one of these bags! ;) But seriously, I need help convincing Jesse that a DSLR is like a blogging necessity!
ReplyDeleteomg that ONA bag...wow. but i do love yours, too. It's grey, what's not to love? And it's true, i hesitate to bring mine all the time because i hate having it around my neck or carrying it in a weird camera bag.
ReplyDeleteI have an Epiphanie camera bag. The "Clover" in turquoise. I got the biggest one they had at the time because I needed space for my lenses, laptop, phone, wallet, etc. when we went to Las Vegas last year. It's a little huge for any trip I take my DSLR on, so I might get one of their smaller ones down the road. I love their color selection.
ReplyDeleteI've heard good things about Kelly Moore's bags, too.
we have a lowepro bag too and love it. easy to carry and lotsa room for extras. the padded insert for the camera part comes out and I stick it in my purses sometimes too :)
ReplyDeleteL.O.V.E. your skirt :0) the camera bag is great, too!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. my husband's name is Nathan, too!! :0)
Recent numbers show that 63% of US households own a pet - that's 71.1 million homes and families with dogs, cats, iguanas, parakeets, fish, ferrets, potbellied pigs, etc, etc., Taking care of a pet is tougher than taking care of an infant, since our pets can't speak. Hence, making sure your pet is safe and happy when you leave it alone at home should be a priority for all pet owners. One of the simplest ways of watching over a pet remotely is by using some sort of webcam software like GotoCamera that is easily available online these days. Thanks to technology and some very smart people who are working on making things easier for us, you can now use your basic webcam to monitor your pets while you're away from them.
ReplyDeleteI might be semi-jealous! Seriously... it makes me sad to toss my camera into a Crown Royal purple sleeve (no joke) and throw it in my purse because I'm too lazy to actually carry my camera bag. I need a cute, functional, easy-to-tote around one too! Love yours!
ReplyDeleteWe have a giant ugly camera backpack that is completely functional and smart and ugly. Your bag wins.
ReplyDeleteI have the same bag and LOVE it. Great choice.
