A really long time ago (think months), the nice folks over at Rubbermaid sent me a Hidden Recycler to test out and tell you about. I am a horrible blogger and totally missed the due date. Luckily those nice folks at Rubbermaid are understanding. So today is the day! Better late than never, right?
Let me tell you how recycling works at our house. We throw everything onto the kitchen table until I decide that I can’t take it anymore and haul the stuff out to the garage.
I love when I get comments about how we have everything so together. If by “having it together” you mean crumbs, dead flowers and trash on the table (and missing blogging deadlines), then yes, we have it all together.
Nate thinks we have a recycling fairy and there is no need for recycling assistance. If only this recycling fairy thing was true…
Ike and I decided to test out the Hidden Recycler. We thought underneath the kitchen sink would be the perfect spot.
The Hidden Recycler can be installed with screws or hung on the door. It is a 5 gallon bag with a leak-proof liner. The bag is also made from recyclable material, and the product is recyclable.
One of the best features of the product is the detachable bag that allows you to easily take it your recycling bin…in your pajamas.
Nate still thinks we have a recycling fairy. The recycling fairy thinks the Hidden Recycler is a handy product to have in our kitchen. Now I only have to work on the crumbs, dead flowers, and blog deadlines!

I believe in the recycling fairy! My fiance is very good at it :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...I laughed so hard when I read this! Piles of garbage on my kitchen counters (and I thought I was the only one) until I finally break and can't even open the door to my garage because I have so much in my arms. My husband can't seem to find the recycling bin (though he's incredibly helpful in every other way, so I can't gripe). I am the recycling fairy.
ReplyDeleteNot only am I the recycling fairy, but I'm also the invisible chair pusher, the mail magician, and am able to give my house a makeover every Monday, after the tornados that hit on the weekends!
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy! My fiance is the washing up fairy, though, so...
ReplyDeleteOmg!! I'm a recycling fairy too...according to my husband. I love this product!!
ReplyDeleteThis is too cool - I have finally become a recycling fairy. We just moved last week into a house, our apartment didn't recycle. This would be perfect to get organized within our moving mess!
ReplyDeleteI am totally the recycling fairy in our house. Also responsible for magically getting the garbage out to the end of the driveway every week!
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy though sometimes one does come to visit.
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy, the laundry fairy, the cooking fairy, the cleaning fairy, the grocery fairy, ...
ReplyDeleteI NEED this. We use this super ugly bin for our recycling. Wait. WE don't use it, I do all the work. He just empties out most of the containers!
ReplyDeletehahahaha my husband doesn't think we have a recycling fairy, he just doesn't think we recycle that much. me - we need a bigger bin for the recycling, husband - why, it's not like it ever gets piled up too much, me - and why do you think that is?, husband - because we don't recycle that much ... on second thought, my husband does think we have a recycling fairy!!!
ReplyDeleteHa - as THE recycling fairy in my house I would love one of these. I'd put it right under the countertop where all the empty cans & bottles go to hang out while waiting for me to take them on that magic ride to the garage!
ReplyDeleteI love that and need one. It's so much better than having the extra garbage can in my kitchen that we throw all the recycling in. I make Aaron take everything out to the garage, but I am the one who puts most everything in the bin. He leaves stuff on the counters.
ReplyDeleteI believe in the recycling fairy! I just toss stuff on the kitchen or bathroom counter and it disappears!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely the recycling fairy as well as the dirty sock fairy ;-)
ReplyDeleteI believe in the recycling fairy! I pile up the stuff to be recycled and it magically makes it to our garage.
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy and I try to help my hubs recycle, too. Peer pressure, you know?
ReplyDeleteAND We are moving into a new house, so this would be perfect. AND Tuesday is my birthday ;)
Haha! I'm totally the recycling fairy...
ReplyDeleteWe recycle a TON, but unfortunately that means overflowing recycle bins because the Hubs and I are too lazy to take them outside to the bin. This would make it so much easier!
ReplyDeleteThis would make my job as the recycling fairy so much easier!!!
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy in my house. I would love this product!
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy and would this ever help. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy...but I wish the recycling fairy was better at her job :)
ReplyDeleteI SOOOO desperately need this! My new hubby and his friends drive me crazy with their beer cans everywhere after every game that is watched at my house! Please pick me to avoid a divorce! :)
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy among many other fairy names like clean undies fairy. My husband is amazed at that one. Get left on the bathroom floor and *poof* clean and in the drawer lol
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I am one lucky lady as my Hubby has been working from home more so he has taken the fairy role. Oh how he would love to read that sentence **shame**
ReplyDeleteI NEED this!! Our recycling fairy is Shalai. She pulls milk jugs out of the recycling and destroys them. Since we're trying to keep her insides in good shape after her surgery fiasco, this is not an advisable activity.
ReplyDeleteI believe in the recycling fairy! We have a bin but my hubs takes it out every night :)
ReplyDeleteI am totally the recycling fairy and this fairy is disgruntled at the lack of help she gets....
ReplyDeleteI believe in the recycling fairy. This would make recycling so much easier! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I am the recycling fairy! I'd love to give this a try :)
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy and would really love this.
ReplyDeleteI am most definitely the recycling fairy! We don't have much floor space in our kitchen, so this would be a perfect option for us(me)!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely the recycling fairy...what a great invention!
ReplyDeleteI am, 100%, the recycling fairy.
ReplyDeleteI am the Recycling Fairy!
ReplyDeleteI'm 100% the recycling fairy at my house!
ReplyDeleteMy recycling fairy is named Dallas. He makes all the trash magically disappear too.
ReplyDeleteI am 100% the recycling fairy!!
ReplyDeleteJulie J
*sigh* i know all to well about this alleged recycling fairy... i dream of her/him each time i collect our cans/plastic/bottles and haul them down to the recycling center... kristinmik at gmail
ReplyDeleteOo ooh, I believe! Our fairy also moves the cans to the street and back again!
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy, and the garbage fairy and the haul in the groceries fairy. my wings are slightly worn to say the least. thanks for offering a giveaway
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I share responsibilities with the recycling fairy :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Mike and I are both the recycling fairies and recyclers. We seem to switch off on this one. But I would love this, it'd get all those craft beer bottles off my counter!
ReplyDeleteDepending on the day I'm either the fairy or just believing in one. I'd love this...it'd get the craft beer bottles off my counter!
ReplyDeleteOf course I believe!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I recycle an empty SunDrop bottle, an angel gets their wings:)
UGH! I AM the recycler fairy. I flit about the house picking up all the cans and papers and they magically make their way to the garage.
ReplyDeleteI believe usually the recycler fairy is the same as the toilet paper fairy.
I am the Recycle Fairy! This would be super awesome in my kitchen for a few reasons: 1) I dont have much counter space for my compost/recycle stuff anyways and this is perfect for under the sink 2) I had a waster bucket in the kitchen that sat on the floor, but my baby Dino has now GOTTEN into it and created a mess.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a huge problem solver!
Oh No! I am the recycle fairy, the everything fairy! Lol. I would love to win this! Just visiting from the May Blog Hop and am now following you. I would also love to invite you to link this up to Freedom Fridays Blog Hop.

PS Check out my May 24th post where I am co hosting Katherine's Corner Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop. TWO Parties, one place! So hoping to see you there!
PS: Giveaways are always welcome!
Love! We take turns being the recycling fairy in our house. It was my turn to believe this week! However, our recycling lives on the floor of the dining room in an old rum box from BevMo. I would love to toss that thing into the recycling bin and have our recycling under the sink like civilized folks!
ReplyDeleteI believe in the recycling fairy too! His name starts with an A!
ReplyDeleteI believe in the recycling fairy and yesterday my beliefs paid off!
ReplyDeleteFairy duties pretty much fall on me..so anything that makes my wings shine a bit brighter and flutter a bit faster is a blessing!
ReplyDeleteI definitely believe in the recycle fairy; it has been disappearing faster and faster from our counter lately. Love this idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm the recycling fairy, along with the laundry fairy, dishes fairy, and the fairy for everything else that is too gross for anyone else to touch. Shhh...don't tell anyone! I let our recycling pile up on the counter until it becomes a mini-mountain and I can't stand it anymore.
ReplyDeleteOf course I believe in the recycling fairy! And that Rubbermaid product would make a very nice purse for her!
ReplyDeleteI could definitely use one of those for my son ;). He is the recycling fairy :)
ReplyDeleteI am the house-to-garage recycling fairy... my husband is the garage-to-curb recycling fairy! This would be a totally awesome under the sink secret!
ReplyDeletei wish I was the recycling fairy! Alas, I just believe in her, and yes, she is a woman. ;)
ReplyDeleteI happen to be the recycling fairy at my house! I do exactly what you do - and it drives me crazy. I'd love to have this; it would make my life easier and the house look so much better!)
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have arguments over who is the recycling fairy. I think if we tracked how many trips we both make to drop the stuff in the garage, we'd be about even. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteHilary
I believe in the recycling fairy. My husband is very good at it. I just help enable him by trying to organize....I'm not sure if the fairy appreciates this effort, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely the recycling fairy! My hubs just leaves boxes and crap everywhere! I would never do that *wink
ReplyDeleteI AM the recycling fairy at my house! Or at least I put all the materials in a pile and my hubby always takes it out. So maybe we both are?
ReplyDeleteRecycling Fairy.... but not very organized... leave things to recycle on never used formal dining table and take it out every day or so.
ReplyDeleteI am the recycling fairy. But it's always nice to pretend! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your old recycling method...sounds like mine but mine is WAY worse. Our recycling can is right outside the garage door (which is off the kitchen). I'm known for setting my stuff on the floor next to that door. Lazy much?! I'd love to put this under my sink!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I share fairy duties. This looks great! Our method is to throw all the cardboard from boxes on the floor by the trash can in the kitchen and after kicking it a few dozen times, take it out to the recycling bin. At least yours is up and not in the walking path.
ReplyDeleteI totally believe in the recycling fairy. Sometimes I wear the wings and sometimes it's the hubster. Either way, we recycle a lot!! In fact, we recycle so much that we were able to cancel our trash service and we now take one or two bags of actual waste to the dump every two weeks! Although our last name in Black, we think GREEN :)
ReplyDeleteBest promotional blog post ever. Seriously. I sat here and I read it all. Yup. Was hoping to get a glimpse of that recycling fairy. We must have different ones, though.
ReplyDeleteMy recycling fairy wears jeans. And when there is no recycling to recycle, he does double duty as the laundry fairy. I wonder how long I would need to go without vacuuming before he was forced into duty as the vacuuming fairy?
:)
Linda
I am the recycling fairy. I haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing a receptacle yet, so maybe I'll win this one!
ReplyDeleteSadly I have awaited the recycling for months and.....never showed up!! The Nerve right!! So I do it every other day because I don't have a handy dandy hidden recycler bag!!! Happy Recycling everyone!!
ReplyDelete*insert fairy where I neglected to write it!!
DeleteWe have a nice pile of recyclables on the kitchen floor... drives me CRAZY. I would love one of these bins!
ReplyDeleteI believe in the recyling fairy.
ReplyDeleteWe have so much recycle stuff it isn't even funny. And I'm the recycle fairy and sometimes my recycle fairy wings are broken because I, at times, find it easier to stuff everything into a black plastic bag and go burn it. And that is why I blow at cutting down air pollution.
ReplyDeleteSo I think a recycle bin, that I don't have to see would be handy dandy!
I believe in the recycling fairy since I am the recycling fairy! Would love this since we have a giant recycling bin that takes up room, and my 10 month old is ready to empty any day now with his new independence! Need this!
ReplyDeleteI am the slacker recycling fairy. I store everything in old trader joe's bags next to the door until there's enough to fill the bin, then I take it out. This is a much neater option.
ReplyDeleteWe soo need a place for recycling, so far the recycling fairy has not shown up!!

I AM the recycling fairy!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had someone other than myself to call the recycling fairy but It is me in my household. I think that would be a great product to try.
ReplyDeleteThe "Recycling Fairy" made me smile! I wish we had one, but like you, I get that job. And since the recycling bin that we roll out to the street every other week is down in our garage, I would LOVE this! It makes recycling quick & easy. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteP.S love your blog :)
We have two recycling fairies in our house, and 3 kids who believe in them. Just leave a pile on the kitchen island and while they sleep it is magically transported down the stairs to the garage.
ReplyDeleteHaha, no! I tend to put it in the box and the fiance takes it to the curb, so I guess it's a group effort!
