I’m nothing if not indecisive. And I love a good survey. And I’m tired of writing how-to posts.
How about you take a survey and help me make a decision that I keep wavering on? Ok!
What color should I paint the inside of the entry door to our garage (Not the bi-fold doors. We’ll tackle those another day..unless you have an easy fix for us!)…
Black? Red? Yellow? Keep it white?
For those who have trouble visualizing things (Try not to be jealous of my Photoshop Skills. I only pretend to be a fancy blogger)…
Note: These are not the exact colors I would use. They are just the first that I clicked in Photoshop..again, I’m a fancy blogger.
What do think?
Feel free to leave a comment with why you picked the color that you did! Comments help make my work day more enjoyable. Mommas, don't let your babies grow up to be pharmacists....
I think Navy (or a way darker blue in the same tone as your room) would look cool. Otherwise, my second favorite is red (to go with Ike's ikea hook).
ReplyDeleteWith the light blue in the walls, I think the door should be red (or Fucsia, but Nate is not going to agree with me ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that you are not a fancy blogger, I think your photoshop skills are on par with mine. LOL
ReplyDeleteI really like the red, especially if you are using it as your accent color. You can tone it down a bit by hanging a black board or dry-erase board on the back of the door for notes and such but I like it just red as well. I wish my hubs would get on board wtih me paiting our doors. He has a hard time visualizing how something will look so doesn't like change. He will often say 'no' initially to many things unless i wear him down :) He ends up liking things in the end though so no harm.
I like the red it matches the doggie butt...pops of red with the blue and white. Me Likey!
ReplyDeletei voted yellow, but i also think a charcoal gray would look smashing!
ReplyDeleteI think a golden-y yellow could be fun, or red, or gray. I didn't vote because I couldn't decide :(
ReplyDeleteWhite for me... but I'm a very conservative decorator. If you dare, go for something brighter.
ReplyDeleteLove the black door! Although the other choices are good too.... shoot!
ReplyDeleteI think the red would be a great choice!!

I voted for charcoal with an exclamation mark!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm jumping on the bandwagon with my vote for black! I don't know why, but I'm always a sucker for a glossy black...pretty much wherever (c;
ReplyDeleteI like the black- ties in with the bench and shelf nicely.
ReplyDeleteI voted for yellow... but I also like the person that said navy... or the person that said charcoal... or for my own different suggestion, a bold kelly-ish green :) I've always loved soft blue/grays paired with green
ReplyDeleteI would just freshen up the door with White paint. The white door will help the room look and feel larger. According to Candice Olson, my favorite HGTV designer, strong contrasting colors in a space will make that space look smaller.
ReplyDeleteI would bring in some color though, with a grouping of black and white photos of Ike framed in black. Or red to match the dog bum hook.
Ok, I'm surprising myself by saying white. But I just feel like it blends in nicely and makes the room feel really connected and open. If it was a front door I'd vote differently...
ReplyDelete(second vote would be black)
I voted for white, but I think I'd have to know your whole vision for the room. If it will be more colorful, then another color may be fun. If it's more subdued, then white, maybe black.
ReplyDeleteI think any would look great, but I love the black or a navy. Great contrast. :)
ReplyDeleteI voted for the red. I think either the black or red since there are other pops of those colors in the room.. but the red to go with Ike's leash hook is what I think would be very cool.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was black but when I saw the red I was sold. I also think navy would be nice but that's another safe option. Go with your heart. Worst case scenario is that you spend time repainting the door.
ReplyDeletea completely different question - how do you keep the garage door from banging into the bifolds?
ReplyDeleteI voted Navy! I think it would be dark and dramatic, just like black but a bit more approachable. Plus I am on a navy bender and want someone else to join me : ) Your board and batten looks fab btw!!
ReplyDeleteI voted black but I think a dark blue would be nice. Though black matches the bench and shelf on the other side of the room.
ReplyDeleteI think a navy or grey would be perfect. I don't love the red with the blue but that's just me. Maybe a more muted red than what your awesome photoshop work shows :) I think it needs a pop somewhere its a lot of white. Love the b&b btw. I so want to try that.
ReplyDeleteI think you gotta go black on this one. it will match the bench and I think the big features in the room should compliment each other. You should def use splashes of color with wall hangings and decor, but my opinion is to go with black. melissa a.
ReplyDeleteI love the black but I bet I'll love either one. For real. Not just being diplomatic. :)
ReplyDeleteI like it white since it blends, but I also like the way the black looks. The red and yellow are only okay.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for a marigold-yellow (especially when paired with gray). Lovely!

ReplyDeleteI'm partial to black because I painted the interior of my foyer doors that color. I think anything else might be a little too "out there".
ReplyDeleteLove the way the board and batten turned out by the way! Looks awesome!
I like the suggestions so far of navy blue, but if not that, then red - to match the dog-butt leash hanger =)
ReplyDeleteI think the black door would look good with the black bench seats. You could go with a black and white look and maybe add a splash of red or yellow. Fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking the look of the glossy black doors! I think that is what you should do, but I'm sure whatever you choose will look great! Good luck! Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the red door!
ReplyDeleteI was stumbling around the design blogs that I read and found yours -- I am so glad I did! Happy to be a new follower :)

Red all the way! It will match the dog butt!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a yellow or red door. with all the black and white already, it would be cool to have a colorful door!
