The second floor plans went from this...

As with the first floor, we reversed the plans to better fit our lot.
We were once again inspired by the Parade of Homes and liked the concept of a Jack & Jill area.
Our children (if they ever exist...sorry Mom) will not know how to share.....unless we have 6 of them (there you go Mom).
Each will have their own bedroom and sink area and will share a shower and toilet. I hope they can handle that. Spoiled brats.
Each room has a fairly decent sized closet as well.
I originally debated the upstairs laundry. I had never heard of such a thing. I live in Iowa. I don't get out much. I did like the idea of not having to lug laundry baskets full of clothes up and down stairs. So it stayed...and it was a FABULOUS decision.
The master bedroom stayed the same...except we were cheap and left out the tray ceiling.
We didn't love the layout of the master bathroom. It just seemed weird to us. Nate wanted a walk-in shower with no curtain (awesome decision) and I wanted a claw foot tub (awesome decision). So we worked with the plan designer to come up with our current layout. We added 2 pocket doors as well.
The master closet does have a major design flaw....the giant double window. We had to incorporate it to keep the exterior from looking unbalanced. Not so good for privacy though.
At least we can watch fireworks from our closet now...
You live and you learn.
Overall, we did follow the inspiration design closely. We loved the walk-way and the separation of the master suite from the rest of the house.
Tomorrow we'll look at the change in the exterior of the house....note that giant window.
